[I. Call To Order] [00:00:09] YEAH WELL, GOOD EVENING. I WOULD LIKE TO CUT ORDER. THE DECEMBER 8TH 2022 MEETING OF THE NEW ALBANY IDEA IMPLEMENTATION PANEL AT ABOUT SEVEN WHAT IS THE EXACT TIME 702 KIDS STAFF. PLEASE TAKE VOCAL RIGHT? UM, REMEMBER, LOU YEAH. MEMBER ALVARADO. PANEL MEMBER BARRY YEAH. PANEL MEMBER DIRKSEN HERE. REMEMBER JOHNSON HERE? REMEMBER, ALTHOUGH LOYOLA PANEL MEMBERS, INGO COUNCIL [III. Action of Minutes] MEMBER BRISK. COUNCIL MEMBER WILL TRAVEL HERE. WE HAVE A CAR . ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU. UM SO THE FIRST ITEM ON THE AGENDA IS THE ACTION OF MINUTES FOR THE NOVEMBER 10TH 2022 IDEA PANEL MEETING. ARE THERE ANY CORRECTIONS TO LAST MONTH'S MINUTES FROM STAFF OR PANEL MEMBERS? CAN I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE NOVEMBER MEETING MINUTES? MY SECOND, ALRIGHT? THANK YOU. GOOD STAFF. PLEASE READ ROLL CALL FOR APPROVAL. BARRY YEAH. DIRKSEN. YEAH. CLEAR BLUE. AND JOHNSON. ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO THE AGENDA FROM EITHER STAFF OR BOARD MEMBERS? I'M FROM SOUTH. OKAY? UM ALRIGHT. SO ARE THERE ANY VISITORS WISHING TO SPEAK ON [VI. Business] ITEMS NOT ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA. OKAY? UM THERE ARE NO MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC IN ATTENDANCE TONIGHT WHO WISH TO SPEAK SO WE CAN GO AHEAD AND MOVE ON TO THE ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING REQUIREMENTS AND ITEMS OF BUSINESS. I WILL TURN IT OVER TO STAFF TO LEAD US THROUGH THESE AGENDA ITEMS. GREAT WELL, FIRST , UM WE HAVE SCOTT MCAFEE HERE AND I'LL LET HIM INTRODUCE HIMSELF. HE WAS ACTUALLY HERE AT OUR VERY FIRST MEETING. AND HE'S GONNA RUN US THROUGH THE COMMUNITY ATTITUDE SURVEY FIRST. GOOD EVENING, EVERYBODY. I'M SCOTT MCAFEE. I'M ESSENTIALLY THE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR FOR THE CITY BEEN HERE BEFORE, SO IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN. I APOLOGIZE TO ANDREA IN ADVANCE BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO BE THE SAME PRESENTATION THAT OUR CONSULTANTS SHARED WITH CITY COUNCIL EARLIER THIS YEAR, SO SHE'S GONNA GET TO HEAR IT TWICE. UM. BUT I THINK IT'S PROBABLY 25 ISH MINUTE PRESENTATION AND PROBABLY THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE QUESTIONS IS AS AS WE GO OVER EACH PAGE. IF YOU GUYS HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT SOMETHING THAT YOU SEE, JUST GO AHEAD AND ASK ME WILD. WE'RE GOING THROUGH THE PRESENTATION. SO WHICH ONE? HOW DOES THIS WORK AGAIN THIS YEAR? OKAY? SO THE THREE MAIN REASONS WHY WE DO SURVEYS AND THIS WAS THERE. THIS IS THE THIRD SURVEY THAT WE'VE DONE. UM NUMBER ONE. IT GIVES RESIDENTS A VOICE ON A MULTITUDE OF TOPICS. WHETHER THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT, UM SERVICES OR AMENITIES. IT ALSO GIVES STAFF AND COUNCIL OBJECTIVE FEEDBACK. UM I THINK THAT THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU MAY HEAR SOMETHING FROM JUST A HANDFUL OF RESIDENTS AND ASSUME THAT THAT EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY FEELS THAT WAY. IT'S ALWAYS REALLY NICE TO BE ABLE TO HAVE AN INSTRUMENT. WHERE YOU CAN GATHER INFORMATION FROM A MULTITUDE OF PEOPLE AND ALL THE SURVEYS THAT WE'VE DONE. UM THE SAMPLE SIZE HAS BEEN AROUND 300 . FINALLY IT REALLY HELPS US IN PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE, AND AN EXAMPLE OF THAT FOR THE FIRST SERVICES OR AMENITIES. AN EXAMPLE OF THAT IS IN 2018. ONE OF THE QUESTIONS THAT WE HAD ON THE SURVEY IS, WOULD RESIDENTS BE INTERESTED IN FOOD COMPOSTING? FAST FORWARD FOUR YEARS AND IN 2022, THERE'S A FOOD COMPOSTING PROGRAM IN THE COMMUNITY. SO LOTS OF GOOD REASONS TO DO A SURVEY. THE METHODOLOGY FOR ALL OF OUR SURVEYS SO FAR, UM THEY'VE ALL BEEN TELEPHONE SURVEYS. UM AND LIKE I SAID, THEY'VE ALL BEEN ROUGHLY 300 ADULT RESIDENTS. UH THIS YEAR SURVEY IT TOOK 20 MINUTES FOR, UM, THE CONSULTANT TO BASICALLY DO FOR UM, FOR EACH PERSON WHO WANTED TO PARTICIPATE. THE CELL PHONES. UT [00:05:01] 75 25 CELL PHONES TO LANDLINES. CELL PHONES CONTINUE TO BECOME MORE AND MORE POPULAR. UM THE REASON WHY WE WANT TO HAVE ROUGHLY 300 RESIDENTS IS BECAUSE WE WANT OUR MARGIN OF AIR TO BE ROUGHLY 5% AND WE WANT TO BE CONFIDENT IN THE IN THE INFORMATION THAT WE'RE THAT WE'RE GETTING UM THIS YEAR. WE GOT OUR FILES ARE PHONE FILES FROM THE FRANKLIN COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS AND A COMMERCIAL PROVIDER. AND ONE OF THE INTERESTING THINGS THROUGH THE YEARS HAS BEEN THE NUMBER OF PHONE CALLS. IT'S TAKEN. TO ACTUALLY GET TO 300 PARTICIPANTS. AND 2018. IT WAS JUST UNDER 5500. PHONE CALLS IN 2022. IT WAS ALMOST 8000. SO ESSENTIALLY, IT'S A SUCCESS RATE OF ABOUT 4. UM BUT THE REASON WHY WE CONTINUE TO DO PHONE SURVEYS IS BECAUSE IT'S THE MOST STATISTICALLY VALID FORM OF SURVEYS THAT YOU CAN DO AND I'M ALWAYS AMAZED WHETHER YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT SEX AGE. UM LOCATION OF YOUR HOME OR EDUCATION. IT'S AMAZING JUST HOW CLOSE THE NUMBERS ARE BETWEEN THE SAMPLE SIZE AND THE NUMBERS FROM OUR FROM OUR CENSUS. THERE'S NO THERE'S NOTHING THAT'S MORE THAN 2% POINTS OFF. SO THAT'S ONE OF THE REASONS WHY WE CAN BE VERY COMFORTABLE WITH THE INFORMATION THAT WE GET. IN TERMS OF THE RESIDENT PROFILE. OVER THE FOUR YEARS. NOT A LOT HAS CHANGED. ONE OF THE INTERESTING THINGS THAT POPPED OUT TO ME WAS ON THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER IF YOU LOOK AT MARRIED IN 18 2083% OF THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SURVEYED WERE MARRIED. AND 2022. IT'S DOWN TO 73. I JUST THOUGHT THAT WAS INTERESTING. THE OTHER, UM. I GUESS SIGNIFICANT NOTE IS AT THE BOTTOM, RIGHT? UM THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO BOTH LIVE AND WORK IN NEW ALBANY AND 2018. IT WAS ONE IN FOUR IN 2022. IT'S ESSENTIALLY ONE IN THREE. SO THERE ARE CERTAINLY A LOT MORE RESIDENTS THAT ARE LIVING AND WORKING IN NEW ALBANY. AND I THINK THAT'S ALSO A FUNCTION OF THE DIVERSITY AND THE JOBS THAT ARE OFFERED IN THE COMMUNITY. OVERALL IMPRESSIONS. UM 90% OF THE COMMUNITY THINK THAT NEW ALBANY ISN'T EITHER EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD PLACE TO LIVE. SCOTT WHO COMES UP WITH THE QUESTIONS? WELL I WOULD SAY THAT PROBABLY THREE QUARTERS OF THE QUESTIONS HAVE REMAINED THE SAME FROM 2018 BECAUSE WE WANTED TO PAIR IT BENCHMARK AND COMPARATIVE, UM AND THEN, PROBABLY THE OTHER QUARTER IS QUESTIONS THAT IF COUNCIL MEMBERS WANT TO HAVE WANT TO ASK THE QUESTION, COUNCIL MEMBERS CAN UM, WE KIND OF KEEP TRACK OF IF THERE'S ANY THING IN THE COMMUNITY THAT POPS UP AND THEN OTHER THAN THAT, IT'S UM, IT'S STAFF MEMBERS WHO WANT TO ASK SOME SPECIFIC QUESTIONS AND EXAMPLE OF THAT IS LATER ON. WE'RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT TRAFFIC, AND THE POLICE WANTED TO ASK SOME SPECIFIC QUESTIONS ABOUT TRAFFIC. UM. IF YOU LOOK AT THESE NUMBERS LESS PEOPLE THINK THAT NEW ALBANY IS A GOOD PLACE TO WORK. BUT I THINK IT'S JUST MORE OF A FUNCTION OF THE FACT THAT SO MANY PEOPLE AREN'T SURE IF YOU LOOK AT THE BOTTOM LEFT. MORE THAN 30% OF THE COMMUNITY. ISN'T SURE. UM AND WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE FACT THAT ONLY ONE THIRD OF THE RESIDENTS ACTUALLY DO WORK IN THE COMMUNITY THAT MAKES KIND OF SENSE, I THINK THAT THE BIG THING IS 97% OF THE COMMUNITY BELIEVES THAT IT'S A GOOD PLACE TO WORK OR BETTER SO, AT LEAST FROM A PERCEPTION STANDPOINT. UM NEW ALBANY IS A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE AND TO WORK. UM NINE OUT OF 10 RESIDENTS ALMOST WAS 89% THINK THAT YOU ALBANY IS HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I THINK WHEN YOU TAKE A LOOK AT UM SOME OF THE THINGS THAT HAVE OCCURRED OVER THE LAST YEAR, PARTICULARLY IN THE DEVELOPMENT REALM. UM FOR PEOPLE TO STILL THINK THIS I MEAN YOU FROM JUST A TIMING STANDPOINT. THE INTEL ANNOUNCEMENT WAS MADE IN JANUARY. UM THE SURVEY WAS IN MAY AND JUNE SO BETWEEN AMGEN AND BETWEEN INTEL. THOSE ANNOUNCEMENTS WERE ALL BEFORE THIS, AND THIS STILL REFLECTS THAT A LOT OF THE NEARLY EVERYBODY THINKS THAT NEW ALBANY IS HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THIS PROBABLY SHOULDN'T BE A SURPRISE TO ANYBODY THAT, UM THE TOP PRIORITY THAT THE SAMPLE SIZE [00:10:01] BELIEVES THE TOP PRIORITY FOR CITY OFFICIALS IS TO PROVIDE CITY SERVICES MAKES SENSE TO ME. UM SECOND, AND IT WAS ALSO SECOND IN 2020 WAS HELPING TO MAINTAIN HIGH QUALITY AND SAFE SCHOOLS. UH AND I THINK AT LEAST FROM A POLICE STANDPOINT. AH! THE CITY HAS FUNDED TO SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS ON THE SCHOOL CAMPUS. UH FOR MORE THAN A DECADE NOW AND THIS YEAR. THE SCHOOLS ALSO HAVE DEDICATED AND FUNDED A SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS THERE NOW THREE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS. ON CAMPUS. AND THEN THE OTHER TWO THINGS ARE RELATED TO GROWTH, THE OTHER TOP LOOKING AT THE TOP 43 AND FOUR ARE BOTH RELATED TO GROWTH. AND I DON'T THINK THAT'S A SURPRISE EITHER GIVEN SOME OF THE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT HAVE OCCURRED, WE'RE GOOD TO KEEP GOING. OKAY? TERMS OF SPECIFIC CITY SERVICES. UM VERY, VERY HARD WORKS FOR SNOW REMOVAL BOTH ON OUR MAIN ROADS AND ON OUR NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS. YOU'LL SEE THAT ONE A LITTLE BIT LATER. LIKE TO THANK FROM KEY FOR UH, SUCH HIGH MARKS FOR THE COLLECTION OF TRASH RECYCLING AND YARD WASTE. I THINK IT'S AMAZING, UM FROM A POLICE PROTECTION STANDPOINT. IN THIS DAY AND AGE TO BE TALKING ABOUT , YOU KNOW, A 90% SATISFACTION RATE. UM YOU KNOW, YOU LOOK AT 2018 AND 2020, AND IT WAS EVEN HIGHER. BUT I THINK ANY TIME YOU'RE OVER 90, THAT'S JUST IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE. AND YOU KNOW, ONE OF THE INTERESTING THINGS IS IF YOU LOOK TO THE RIGHT, THE NOT SURE WENT FROM 4% TO 8% SO THERE'S PROBABLY YOU KNOW THOSE FOLKS WHO THOUGHT THAT THE POLICE PROTECTION WAS REALLY HIGH AND 2 2020 STILL THINK SO. AND AGAIN, I TALKED ABOUT REMOVED WHEN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD BEING EXTREMELY HIGH. LEAVE COLLECTION AND POLICE OUTREACH PROGRAMS. IF YOU LOOK AT THE CUMULATIVE NUMBERS, THEY'RE LOWER THAN SOME OF THE OTHER NUMBERS THAT WE'VE DISCUSSED, BUT IF YOU LOOK TO THE RIGHT, THE NOT SURE IS AGAIN ARE HIGHER FOR THAT. SO IF YOU FACTOR OUT THE NOT SURES, YOU KNOW WE'RE TALKING IN THE NINETIES FOR THOSE SERVICES AS WELL. UH THE SAMPLE SIZES, PERCEPTIONS OF CITY OFFICIALS. UM VERY, VERY HIGH MARKS AND YOU'RE GOING TO SEE A COUPLE OF ARROWS. THESE WERE THESE WERE THINGS THAT THE CONSULTANT SPECIFICALLY NOTED AS BEING STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT ON EITHER A POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE NOTE, BUT I DON'T THINK WE HAD ANY NEGATIVE ARROWS. UM BUT I THINK THIS IS A REFLECTION OF THE LAST TWO YEARS. ROSE AROUND PARK OPENED. TAYLOR FARM PARK IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT UPGRADE TO PLAYGROUNDS IN NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. SO I THINK YOU KNOW THERE IS A DIRECT REFLECTION OF THAT IN THESE NUMBERS. CONTINUALLY HIGH NUMBERS FOR MAINTAINING APPROPRIATE ARCHITECTURAL STANDARDS. HIGH NUMBERS AGAIN FOR CONNECTING LEISURE TRAILS ARE LEISURE TRAILS WERE UP TO OVER 55 MILES OF LEISURE TRAILS. THAT CONNECTS THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY WHETHER YOU'RE IN THE BUSINESS PARK OR IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. AND I ALWAYS LIKE TO SAY THAT PLANNING IS IN OUR D. N A. WE TALK ABOUT PLANNING A LOT, AND I THINK THAT, UM IT FILTERS OUT TO THE RESIDENTS AS WELL BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THAT WE'RE PLANNING WELL FOR THE FUTURE. KEEPING RESIDENTS INFORMED OF LOCAL OF IMPORTANT ISSUES. IT'S FROM WHERE I SIT. IT'S NICE TO GET HIGH MARKS FOR THAT, UM AND YOU KNOW, THE OTHER ONE OF THE INTERESTING THINGS SO RECRUITING NEW BUSINESSES TO EXPAND THE CITY'S TAX BASE. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT CONSULTANT TOLD US WAS SO THIS IS AN EXAMPLE 81% FOR EACH YEAR. BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE BARS A LOT OF TIMES, YOU CAN SEE POSITIVE CHANGES IN THE BARS LIKE IN 2022 FOR THIS ONE, AS AN EXAMPLE, YOU KNOW, THE VERY SATISFIED BAR IS MUCH BIGGER THAN THE SOMEWHAT SATISFIED BAR. UH MANAGING COMMERCIAL GROWTH AND MANAGING RETAIL BOTH GROWTH. ALSO VERY CONSISTENT OVER THE YEARS. UM AND THESE TWO WERE ALSO STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT TO THE POSITIVE FACTOR MANAGING THE CITY FINANCES. I DON'T KNOW THAT THERE'S ANYTHING DIFFERENT THAT WE'RE DOING. UM BUT FOR WHATEVER REASON, THE RESIDENT PERCEPTIONS [00:15:03] CONTINUE TO GROW UP OF OUR MANAGING OF THE CITY FINANCES. AND AS WELL AS SEEKING INPUT AND FEEDBACK FROM RESIDENTS. AGAIN. THESE NUMBERS ARE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME. AND THEN THE LAST ONE IS IT RELATES TO PERFORMANCE BY CITY OFFICIALS THAT, UM THE CONSULTANT DEEMED STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT TO THE POSITIVE WAS LISTENING TO THE CONCERNS OF RESIDENTS BEFORE MAKING DECISIONS. SO IN TERMS OF AMENITIES FOR MARKET SQUARE. IT'S INTERESTING. THE CATEGORIES. ARE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME. UM, AND THE LISTINGS LIKE WHAT WAS DESIRED MOST IN 2020 IS ALSO DESIRED MOST IN 2022. UM BUT OF THESE SIX THINGS UH, THE CONSULTANT JUST WAS HE NOTED THAT UM THERE'S LESS OF A DESIRE. FOR FAMILY FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS. I GUESS YOU COULD ASSUME THAT OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS, THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW MORE FAMILY. RESTAURANTS THAT HAVE COME INTO THE COMMUNITY. THEN WE'RE HERE IN 2022. HOWEVER IT'S STILL THE MOST DESIRED AMENITY. UM AND THE CONSULTANT WHO DOES SURVEYS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, NOTED THAT NO MATTER WHAT COMMUNITY HE'S IN, AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH CHOICE THEY HAVE IN THE COMMUNITY. THEY NO MATTER WHERE HE IS, HE WILL. THEY ALWAYS WANT MORE. SO WHEN IT COMES TO SHOPPING WHEN IT COMES TO RESTAURANTS, THERE'S ALWAYS A DESIRE FOR MORE. ONE FINAL NOTE THAT HE TALKED ABOUT WAS THIS DESIRE FOR MEETING AND CONFERENCE ROOM SPACE. AND I WOULD SAY JUST FROM OUR EXPERIENCE, UM AS A CITY IN HAVING EVENTS. I WOULD PROBABLY AGREE WITH THAT. NOW. WITH THE BALLOT ISSUE THAT THAT PASSED FROM PARKS, WHO KNOWS THAT MIGHT THAT MIGHT ASSIST THOSE EFFORTS AS WELL? THIS PROBABLY WON'T COME AS A SURPRISE IN ANDREW, BASED UPON OUR ARE COUNCIL MEETING THIS WEEK. PROBABLY DEFINITELY. I MEAN, IT REINFORCES, UM BUT AMONG RESIDENTS FAVORING MORE AMENITIES AND MARKET SQUARE OR PROBABLY FRANKLY THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. UM HALF THE PEOPLE WOULD BE IN FAVOR OF MORE RESIDENTIAL DENSITY IF IT ENCOURAGED MORE RESTAURANTS AND SHOPPING. CHOICES. UM I'M SURROUNDED BY PLANNERS IF YOU ASKED A PLANNER POPULATION IS REALLY, REALLY IMPORTANT CATEGORY AND BEING ABLE TO ATTRACT THESE THINGS, SO RESIDENTIAL DENSITY CAN BE AN IMPORTANT FACTOR. AND EVEN IF WE LOOK AT WHAT'S OCCURRED IN OUR VILLAGE CENTER THAT HAS HAPPENED UM THERE HAVE BEEN MORE BUSINESSES COME IN PART BECAUSE THERE IS A HIGHER RESIDENTIAL DENSITY. BUT HALF OF THE COMMUNITY SAYS THEY WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A HIGHER RESIDENTIAL DENSITY IF IT MEANT THAT THEY WOULD HAVE MORE RESTAURANTS AND SHOPPING CHOICES. ALMOST HALF, THE COMMUNITY SAID. NO THEY DIDN'T WANT THAT. ANOTHER INTERESTING SO HE DUG A LITTLE BIT DEEPER, DID SOME CROSS TABS. UM AND HE FOUND THAT IF YOU'RE YOUNGER AND IF YOU'VE LIVED IN THE COMMUNITY LESS AMOUNT OF TIME, YOU'D ALSO BE MORE OPEN TO RESIDENTIAL DENSITY. AND IF YOU'RE OLDER, OR YOU'VE LIVED HERE LONGER, YOU'RE GONNA BE YOU'RE GONNA WANT THAT LESS. UM TALKED ABOUT POLICE AND TRAFFIC , AND SO WE TRIED TO BREAK TRAFFIC DOWN INTO REALLY THREE DIFFERENT THINGS. UM. WE WANTED TO TALK ABOUT. WE WANTED TO GIVE FEEDBACK FROM RESIDENTS FOR TRAFFIC. UM. FOR THE VILLAGE CENTER, BOTH WHEN THE SCHOOL BEGINS AND ENDS AND THEN ALL OTHER TIMES. AND THEN WE ALSO WANTED TO TRACK UM FOLKS FOR TRAFFIC THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY, NOT JUST WITHIN THE VILLAGE. SO THE FEEDBACK THAT WE GOT WAS WHEN THE SCHOOL DAY BEGINS. AND WHEN THE SCHOOL DAY END UM ROUGHLY TWO THIRDS OF PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT THERE AND I SHOULD ALSO SAY THAT THIS WAS THIS WAS IN JUNE PRIOR TO ANY CHANGES THAT WERE MADE BY THE SCHOOLS. UM. IN TERMS OF WHEN SCHOOL MIGHT START FOR CERTAIN AGE GROUPS. BUT TWO THIRDS OF THE COMMUNITY THOUGHT THAT THERE CERTAINLY WAS AN ISSUE WITHIN THE VILLAGE CENTER. FOR 60 MINUTES WHEN THE SCHOOL BEGINS [00:20:07] FOR 60 MINUTES WHEN THE SCHOOL DAY ENDS. BUT NOBODY ALMOST NOBODY THOUGHT TRAFFIC WAS A PROBLEM IN THE VILLAGE CENTER ANY OTHER TIME OF DAY EXCEPT FOR THOSE TWO HOURS. WELL AND SO YOU KNOW, I WAS ASKED ORIGINALLY, YOU KNOW. HOW THESE QUESTIONS ARE MADE. I COULD DEFINITELY SEE THESE QUESTIONS STAYING THE SAME SO THAT IN TWO YEARS WE CAN SEE IF THE FEEDBACK HAS ANY DIFFERENT. THIS WAS A NEW QUESTION. WE ASKED ABOUT TRAFFIC IN DIFFERENT WAYS. BUT WE'D NEVER. WE NEVER HAD IT BROKEN OUT THIS WAY. AND WE WANTED TO BREAK IT OUT THIS WAY, IN PART BECAUSE IN ALL HONESTY, YOU KNOW , COUNCIL MEMBERS GET FEEDBACK. FROM FOLKS AND SO WE REALLY WANTED TO KIND OF JUDGE THAT FROM A FROM A LARGER SET OF FOLKS. AND SO THEN. THESE WERE NUMBERS FOR JUST THE VILLAGE CENTER. UM, FOR TRAFFIC THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. MOST OF THE COMMUNITY DIDN'T VIEW TRAFFIC AS BEING AN ISSUE IN ANY OTHER PORTION OF THE COMMUNITY AS WELL. SO, BASICALLY, WE GOT TWO HOURS. A DAY, FIVE DAYS A WEEK DURING THE SCHOOL SEASON. AND TO A ANDREW'S POINT. MAYBE LESS OF AN ISSUE NOW THAT SOME CHANGES WERE MADE BY THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS. COMMUNICATION SOMETHING KIND OF NEAR AND DEAR TO ME, AT LEAST, UM AND 2022 OUR SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES WERE THE DEFINITE NUMBER ONE. UM WAY THAT THE COMMUNITY RECEIVED CITY INFORMATION? UM IN 2020. IT WAS KIND OF A DEAD HEAT BETWEEN CITY SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES, AND OUR CONNECTS THE NEWSLETTER. I THINK IT'S NICE TO KNOW THAT ON THE SOCIAL MEDIA FRONT UM, NOW, MORE THAN HALF THE RESIDENTS ARE FOLLOWING US ON AT LEAST ONE OF OUR SEVEN DIFFERENT SOCIAL MEDIA SITES, SO WHETHER YOUR YOUTUBE OR FACEBOOK, OR INSTAGRAM, OR EVEN TIKTOK. UM. WE'RE OUT THERE , SO JUST FIND US IS THERE ONE THAT SEEMS TO BE MORE POPULAR. FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM ARE THE MOST POPULAR, UM, IN TERMS OF IMPRESSIONS FACE GRIPPED. FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM ARE BOTH OVER A MILLION. UM, IN TERMS OF IMPRESSIONS. BUT YOU KNOW LINKEDIN HAS GROWN EXPONENTIALLY FOR US THIS YEAR. I THINK WE. THE COMBINATION OF THE INTEL ANNOUNCEMENT AND SOME IN STAFF WORKING WITH OUR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT. UM FROM A FROM A PROFESSIONAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND HR STANDPOINT, THAT'S CERTAINLY YOU KNOW. RIGHT UP THE ALLEY OF LINKEDIN. AND WE JUST STARTED TO TALK ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO. SO THAT'S THAT'S WHAT, BUT BUT OUR BREAD AND BUTTER IS FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM. UH HUH. AND OUR HIGHEST ENGAGEMENT RATES ARE ALSO ARE ALSO THERE, ALTHOUGH I WILL SAY IT'S AMAZING LINKEDIN OUR ENGAGEMENT ON LINKEDIN. THERE ARE SOME SUBURBS THAT ARE LIKE FIVE TIMES HAVE FIVE TIMES THAT PEOPLE WHO ARE FOLLOWING THEM. BUT WE HAVE THE MOST ENGAGEMENT OF ANY OF OUR SUBURBS . REGARDLESS OF YOU KNOW THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE FOLLOWING US SELF. JUST GOES TO SHOW THE QUALITY OF WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT. AND PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED , UM, AND A LOT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STUFF THAT'S GOING ON. UM. SO THE CITY NEWSLETTER. I DON'T KNOW IF ANYBODY WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE IT AND DOESN'T YET RECEIVE IT. IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE IT. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS GO TO NEW ALBANY, OHIO DOT ORG SLASH SUBSCRIBE TYPE IN YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND YOU'LL START RECEIVING THOSE JUST TO PLUG THAT, UM ARE OPEN RATE FOR OUR CONNECTION NEWSLETTER IS ABOUT 67. THE AVERAGE OPEN RATE FOR A GOVERNMENT NEWSLETTER IS 29% SO AGAIN, REALLY, REALLY HIGH? UM. THE CONSULTANT ALSO SAID, WHAT'S GOING ON WITH CITY MAILINGS. HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU GO FROM 5% TO 17% IN 2020? WE MADE A [00:25:04] CONCERTED EFFORT, UM, TO MAKE SURE THAT COUNCIL LETTERS TO RESIDENTS WENT OUT AT LEAST FIVE TIMES A YEAR. AND YEARS PAST. IT WAS PROBABLY A COUPLE. UH AND SO I THINK IT'S JUST THE COMMUNITY RECOGNIZING THAT THEY'RE THAT THEY'RE GETTING IT AND I'M A FIRM BELIEVER. I LOVE WHAT WE'RE DOING ON SOCIAL MEDIA. I LOVE OUR DIGITAL TOOLS, BUT I'M ALSO A FIRM BELIEVER IN IN PROVIDING DIRECT MAIL TO PEOPLE BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU'RE GOING TO KNOW FOR SURE THAT THEY GOT IT. WHETHER THEY READ IT OR NOT, IS ANOTHER THING. BUT SO WE ASKED. SOME FOLLOW UP QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PANDEMIC. I WOULD SAY THERE'S PROBABLY NOTHING HERE THAT THAT THAT WOULD BE SURPRISING TO ANYBODY. UM. MOST OF THE OF THE SAMPLE GROUP FELT THAT THERE WAS STILL AN INCREASE IN STRESS. UM. AND AN INCREASE IN MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AMONG CHILDREN AND ADULTS. AND AN INCREASE IN SUBSTANCE ABUSE OF BOND ADULTS AND TEENS. AND, UM. SOME ALSO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS PROBABLY AN INCREASE IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. AND I GUESS IF YOU THINK ABOUT THE FACT THAT EVERYBODY IS HOME AT THE SAME TIME, MORE UM PROBABLY EASY TO UNDERSTAND. UM WE DID ASK A FOLLOW UP AS WELL. AND IN 2020, THE. SAMPLE SIZE ALSO SAID THAT THERE REALLY WASN'T ANYTHING THAT THEY THEY WEREN'T GETTING FROM LOCAL, STATE OR FEDERAL SOURCES THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO GET. PRETTY MUCH THE SAME THIS YEAR, AND OF THE PEOPLE WHO WHO DID SAY THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING THAT THEY WISH THAT THEY WOULD RECEIVE. UH NONE OF THOSE BULLETED ITEMS GOT MORE THAN UM , WERE MENTIONED MORE THAN 6% OF THE TIME SO REALLY, REALLY FRAGMENTED IN TERMS OF IF THERE IS ANYTHING OUT THERE THAT PEOPLE WANT. THERE'S NO ONE PARTICULAR THING THAT PEOPLE CAN POINTED. ONE NICE THING IS IN 2020 58% OF THE PEOPLE. IN THE SAMPLE WERE CONCERNED ABOUT ANOTHER WAVE OF COVID 19 INFECTIONS. UM, THIS YEAR, IT'S 14. PROBABLY NOT SHOCKING, CONSIDERING NOW WE HAVE VACCINES AND A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER THINGS, BUT STILL NICE NONETHELESS. WE FOLLOWED UP WITH SOME DIFFERENT DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION QUESTIONED. WELL, EXCUSE ME. AGAIN, PRETTY MUCH THE SAME DIVERSITY INCLUSION QUESTIONS JUST FOR A DIFFERENT YEAR. UM. THE CONSULTANT, NOTED THAT HE WAS. HE WAS INTERESTED IN THE FACT THAT, UM, THE NUMBER OF THE GAINS AND STRONGLY AGREE AND THE LOSSES AND STRONGLY DISAGREE. HE WAS JUST INTERESTED IN THAT, AND I CAN'T REMEMBER. DO YOU REMEMBER? ADRIAN OR ANDREW. LIKE WHAT HE MENTIONED ABOUT THAT. I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS HE THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING AND YOU KNOW PRETTY MUCH THE OTHER NUMBERS ARE VERY, VERY SIMILAR. UM. I THINK IN TERMS OF DEMOGRAPHIC AND SOCIAL DIMENSIONS THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE IN THE SAMPLE SIZE BELIEVE THAT NEW ALBANY IS WELCOMING TO EVERYBODY. UM. IF YOU LOOK AT AGES, PHYSICAL ABILITIES, RACES AND ETHNICITIES , THE SCORES ARE RELATIVELY HIGH . UH THEY WERE RELATIVELY HIGH IN 2020 AND IN 2022 AS WELL. THERE WERE TWO AREAS WHERE THE CONSULTANT THOUGHT THAT IT WAS ANOTHER STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT POSITIVE. AND ONE IS RELIGION TO GO UP, 7% SO YOU KNOW IN IN RELIGION AND THEN THE OTHER ONE WAS SEXUAL ORIENTATION. UM. JUST AS IN 2020 , THE MOST COMMON SUGGESTION FOR PROMOTING DIVERSITY INCLUSION WAS HOSTING SOME KIND OF EVENT OR FESTIVAL, SOMETHING THAT YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH. I DON'T KNOW. I'LL GIVE YOU GUYS SOME TIME TO TAKE OVER TO LOOK OVER. OTHER THINGS. IT'S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT REALLY AFTER THE FIRST TWO YOU KNOW, EVERYTHING ELSE IS BELOW 10. [00:30:19] YEAH. THEY WERE OPEN ENDED. SO THIS IS SOME QUICK HIGHLIGHTS. UM. AMONG RESIDENTS AGAIN, UM THAT THE VIEWS OF NEW ALBANY WERE BROADLY POSITIVE RESIDENTS ARE SATISFIED WITH THEIR LEVEL OF SERVICES AND AMENITIES, PARTICULARLY IN THE AREAS OF PARKS, AND THEY'RE ALSO HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF CITY OFFICIALS. EIGHT OUT OF 10 RESIDENTS ARE PLEASED WITH HOW WE'RE MANAGING COMMERCIAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. AND NINE OUT OF 10 BELIEVE THAT NEW ALBANY IS HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. AND INTEREST, PERSISTENT, EXPANDING OPTIONS HERE AND AS A CONSULTANT SAID EVERYWHERE WHEN IT COMES TO RESTAURANTS AND, UMG OPPORTUNITIES. BUT HOW WE GET THERE? I GUESS IT YOU GET DIFFERENT FEEDBACK, DEPENDING UPON WHETHER YOU'RE YOUNGER OR OLDER OR HOW LONG YOU'VE LIVED HERE. UM I THINK IN TERMS OF TRAFFIC, THE BIGGEST TAKEAWAY IS EXCEPT FOR TWO HOURS A DAY DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, THERE REALLY ISN'T MUCH OF ANY TRAFFIC ISSUES HERE. AND THOSE ISSUES MAY HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. WE WILL FIND OUT MORE IN TWO YEARS WHEN WE DO THE SURVEY AGAIN. UM STRESS AND MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES , RESULTING AS A RESULT OF COVID 19 CONTINUE TO PERSIST. NOT REALLY A SHOCK TO ANYBODY, PROBABLY. UM. THE CONSULTANT BELIEVED THAT BASED UPON THE NUMBERS THAT WE SHOWED THAT EFFORTS TO BECOME A MORE DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY HAVE BEEN MODESTLY SUCCESSFUL. AND, UM. THIS CITY SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES HAS EMERGED AS THE MOST COMMON SOURCE OF NEWS AND INFORMATION FOR RESIDENTS. SO CONGRATS ON THE RESULT. IMPRESSIVE UM, COME AHEAD. COUPLE QUESTIONS FIRST OFF. I'M EMBARRASSED TO SAY I'M NOT CONNECTED SOCIALLY OR THROUGH THE E NEWSLETTER. IT'S THE OLD FASHIONED MAILINGS AT HOME, BUT I NEED TO GET CONNECTED. UM CURIOUS IF YOU GUYS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANY PULSE SURVEYS EITHER ON THE SOCIAL NETWORK OR USING THAT DISTRIBUTION FROM THE E NEWSLETTER. I MEAN, GOD IN THE CORPORATE WORLD WERE ABLE TO KIND OF TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GETTING THAT QUICK PULSE TRYING NOT TRYING TO BE SENSITIVE OF SURVEY FATIGUES. YOU'RE NOT DOING IT TOO MUCH, BUT I'M JUST THINKING FOR THIS GROUP. UM, YOU KNOW, COULD THERE BE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOME PULSE SURVEYS DOWN THE ROAD. YEAH OR THROUGH AN EMAIL. IT'S A IT COULD BE THROUGH SPECIAL. IT COULD BE THROUGH EMAIL, ESPECIALLY IF THERE'S A DESTRO ON THIS. THE NEWSLETTER. IT COULD BE JUST LIKE A QUICK LIKE HERE'S A 10 QUESTIONS LIKE NO ONE WANTS TO USUALLY KNOWN ONCE THEY ANSWER LIKE A 50 QUESTIONS. BUT WE'VE DONE THAT IN THE PAST. HAVE YOU ? YEAH WHEN? NOT NECESSARILY FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS, BUT, UM, WHEN THERE WERE FOLLOW UPS FOR THE STRATEGIC PLAN, THERE WERE YEAH. YOU KNOW, WE'VE DONE HIM A LOT FOR PLANNING PROCESSES STRATEGIC PLAN. WE DID A ARE PARKS FRAMEWORK STUDY IN 2020, AND WE DID A SURVEY WITH THAT, UM, WE'VE HAD MIXED SUCCESS. BUT I THINK MAYBE NOW THAT OUR SOCIAL MEDIA IS RISING AND SO POPULAR. THAT THERE MIGHT BE MORE INTEREST AND WE PROBABLY COULD EVEN DO THAT A LITTLE BETTER THAN WHAT WE'VE DONE IN THE PAST. WE ALSO, UM USED IT WHEN WE DID OUR REBRAND. AND WE GOT SOME REALLY GOOD FEEDBACK FROM RESIDENTS ABOUT JUST JUST COMMUNITY DESCRIPTORS. UM YOU KNOW WHAT THEY THOUGHT OF NEW ALBANY. WHICH REALLY HELPED US FROM A BRANDING STANDPOINT AS WELL. SO THE ANSWER. THE SHORT ANSWER IS YES. COULD DEFINITELY DO THAT. AND TRYING. I THINK. WE'RE PROBABLY WE'RE SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 1,502,000. UM FOR OUR CONNECTS DATABASE. SO YOU KNOW, AND WE COULD EASILY. ANYTIME IF YOU GUYS WOULD HAVE DESIRES TO INCLUDE SURVEYS, WE COULD HAVE THEM BE A STAND ALONE'S OR WE COULD PUT THEM IN THE CONNECTS AS WELL. TO YOUR POINT, I WOULD SUGGEST, LIKE FIVE QUESTIONS OR LESS. UM ONE THING THAT I WAS THINKING OF, UM, WHEN YOU WERE [00:35:03] TALKING ABOUT ESPECIALLY THE COMMUNICATIONS THAT WAS REALLY GREAT THAT THERE'S STILL SO MUCH SUCCESS IN TRACTION THERE, AND I WONDERED, UM, COULD THERE BE SHOULD THERE BE OR WILL THERE BE AT SOME POINT? UM MAYBE AN UPDATE ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR PANEL AND BOARD THAT COULD GO OUT ON MAYBE SOCIAL MEDIA WERE IN THE NEWSLETTER OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, SO PEOPLE CAN JUST SEE A CONTINUATION OF THE WORK THAT WAS STARTED. YEP WE CAN DEFINITELY DO THAT. WE HAVE, UM , THERE'S INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE. AND. SO FOR ROUND ONE OF IDEA AND ALL THE RECOMMENDATIONS. THAT INFORMATION IS ON THE WEBSITE, UM THERE WAS ALSO INFORMATION. THERE WAS INFORMATION THAT WAS ALSO IN OUR ANNUAL REPORT. UM IN 2021 WHOOPS. UM, SORRY. I TALKED WITH MY HANDS. YEAH. AND SO, UM , WE COULD DEFINITELY DO THAT. AND THERE MAY BE A TIME. THAT MAKES SENSE. MAYBE WHEN WE'RE GETTING READY TO LAUNCH A PARTICULAR EVENT OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, UM, AND THEN I ALSO WAS THINKING THAT SINCE THERE WERE SOME QUESTIONS ALREADY AROUND, UM WHAT MIGHT PROMOTE THE EI WHEN WE MAYBE THERE'S A WAY FOR US TO CONNECT SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE DOING TO THIS SURVEY AND KIND OF, SAY THESE RESIDENTS HAVE SAID THAT YOU KNOW, EVENTS AND FESTIVALS IS A GREAT WAY TO DO THIS. AND SO IN RESPONSE TO THAT THIS IS, UM A STEP THAT WE'RE TAKING AND BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. JUST TO KIND OF, YOU KNOW AGAIN HAVE THAT CONTINUITY THERE. TOTALLY THANK YOU THAT THAT COULD EASILY HAPPEN. AND I. I ALSO WASN'T A TON OF MONEY, BUT I PUT SOME MONEY IN THE COMMUNICATIONS BUDGET AS WELL FOR PROMOTING. UM. ANY OF YOUR D I EFFORTS AND THE FESTIVAL SO LIKE FROM A BANNER STANDPOINT. UM AND JUST TO PROMOTION STANDPOINT. WE INCLUDED SOME MONEY AND THE COMMUNICATIONS BUDGET FOR THAT. AWESOME. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS. AWESOME. THANK YOU. TAKE THAT. I JUST HAVE A COUPLE LIKE FOLLOW UP QUESTIONS BECAUSE I KNOW LAST MONTH. WE HAD A LOT OF QUESTIONS ABOUT JUST WANTING MORE DATA AND SO OVERLOADING YOU WITH MORE DATA BECAUSE WE HAD ALL THIS WONDERFUL SURVEY RESPONSES, BUT JUST PULLING FROM THE AMERICAN UNIT. AMERICAN COMMUNITY SURVEY. WHICH IS. ESTIMATES THAT CENSUS STOCK UP PUTS OUT ABOUT COMMUNITY STATISTICS, SO WE WANTED TO COMPARE KIND OF SOME STATISTICS OF THE CORPORATE BRAND RE OF NEW ALBANY COMPARED TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT COMPARED TO THE ZIP CODE. UM WHICH NONE OF THOSE ARE THE SAME THING. SO UM. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS ALMOST DOUBLE THE NUMBER OF RESIDENTS WITHIN ITS BOUNDARY COMPARED TO THE CITY. UM I THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING, NOTING THE DIFFERENT AGE NEW ALBANY IS A LITTLE BIT OLDER THAN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE ZIP CODE AS A WHOLE. UM, MEDIAN INCOME IS JUST OVER 200,000 FOR NEW ALBANY COMPARED TO 131,000 FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. AND LESS THAN THAT FOR ZIP CODE AS A WHOLE. TOTAL HOUSEHOLDS JUST OVER 3200. HERE IN NEW ALBANY. UM AND IT'S MORE THAN DOUBLE THAT FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE ZIP CODE. UM I THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING. SCOTT'S POINT ABOUT NOTING THE MARRIAGE WHO'S MARRIED? WHO TOOK THAT SURVEY BECAUSE, UM, THERE ARE DIFFERENCES AND WHOSE THE PERCENTAGE OF THE POPULATION THAT'S MARRIED IN NEW ALBANY COMPARED TO THE OTHER TWO. FOREIGN BORN POPULATION ROUGHLY THE SAME VETERAN STATUS. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS ALMOST DOUBLE. AND DISABILITY STATUS FOR PEOPLE UNDER AGE 65. IS ROUGHLY THE SAME ACROSS THE DISTRICTS. LOOKING AT RACE. UM. FAIRLY FAIRLY SIMILAR ACROSS THE YEAH. I SHOULD HAVE PULLED THE MAP OF THAT. IT'S MOSTLY THE [00:40:06] SAME AS THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BOUNDARY. BUT THERE ARE ARE SOME AREAS OF 43 OF 543054 ZIP CODE. UM THAT EXTEND INTO JOHANNA LIKE SOUTH UM ORIS ROAD, THE HAIRSTON FUND NEIGHBORHOOD IS IN KAHANA, BUT IT'S 4354. THAT'S THE LARGEST AREA. I KNOW THERE MAY BE SOME SMALLER AREAS ON THE PERIMETER. UM, BUT IT'S THOSE KIND OF SITUATIONS. YES SO IT'S BASED ON THE TOWNSHIP BOUNDARIES . THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BOUNDARIES THERE'S ACTUALLY ONE IT'S ODD. BOUNDARIES OF ALL THESE DIFFERENT ENTITIES ARE SO INTERESTING, BUT IT'S ESSENTIALLY THE TOWNSHIP EXCEPT THERE'S ONE PARCEL THAT IS LIKE EAST OF FRANK UH, FRANKLIN COUNTY IN THE BUSINESS PARK. THAT IS ACTUALLY WITHIN THE PLANE, LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BUT IT'S THE GEOGRAPHY IS JUST A LOT BIGGER THAN THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARY. AND SO FOR OUR PURPOSES AND THE WORK THAT WE DO, IS IT JUST NEW ALBANY? YEAH I MEAN, THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS WE THINK WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT WITH ALL OF YOU. AND SINCE WE'RE SUCH A SMALL GROUP TONIGHT, WE'RE GONNA BE A LITTLE BIT FLEXIBLE IN JUST ALL MEET TOGETHER IN THE CONFERENCE ROOM BEHIND THIS WALL. UM AND WE CAN KIND OF TALK ABOUT ALL THREE PROGRAMS TOGETHER, BUT WE THINK WE NEED TO DEFINE BUT THE AUDIENCES FOR ALL THESE PROGRAMS AND THEN THE MAIN PURPOSE BEHIND THEM. NOW, I WILL SAY FROM A UM , KIND OF CITY EXPENDITURE STANDPOINT. I THINK FOR AMBASSADOR PROGRAM AND THE RECEPTIONS. I THINK THE FESTIVAL OR THE EVENTS MAYBE IS A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT BECAUSE YOU CAN'T CONTROL YOUR AUDIENCE. WE'RE NOT GOING TO HAVE LIKE TICKETED EVENTS. UM I THINK WE NEED TO FOCUS THOSE RESOURCES ON NEW ALBANY RESIDENTS AND SO WE WOULD LOOK TO THOSE STATISTICS. UNLESS WE CREATE A PROGRAM OR MAYBE EVEN GROW A PROGRAM IN THE FUTURE THAT WE COULD PARTNER. WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE PLAIN TOWNSHIP OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND EXPAND IT THAT WAY, BUT BECAUSE THIS IS A MUNICIPAL CREATED BOARD. WE WOULD FOCUS ON NEW ALBANY RESIDENTS. I MEAN, I WAS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS IF YOU HAD ANY EXPECTATIONS, I WAS KIND OF SURPRISED BY THE UM KIND OF SIMILARITY BETWEEN THE THREE GEOGRAPHY EASE IN THE DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION. YEAH I MEAN, I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS ENOUGH TO DATE. STATISTIC BUT I MEAN, I FEEL LIKE ANDREW, YOU MAY KNOW THIS. 60% OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. POPULATION ARE STUDENTS FROM. LIKE THE TOWNSHIP AREAS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, NOT THE CITY AREAS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. SO IT'S DRAWING FROM UNINCORPORATED PLAIN TOWNSHIP. AND ALSO THE CITY OF NEW ALBANY. 50 YES. SO MAYBE 60 40 IS AN OLDER, BUT YEAH. IT'S EVIL. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. I GUESS I MUST CURIOUS HOW MUCH OF. THAT HAS TO DO WITH WIN WIN AND HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AND ABSOLUTELY CORPORATE BOUNDARIES BUT STILL ATTEND OUR SCHOOLS. SO THERE'S A I DON'T, UH WE WOULD NEED. YOU KNOW OUR MEETING TO DISCUSS THE INTEREST. YEAH THE WIN WIN AGREEMENT, BUT THERE ARE SITUATIONS SO LIKE THE DIFFERENT HAMPSTEAD NEIGHBORHOODS. UM SO, FOR EXAMPLE, THERE'S A HAMPSTEAD NEIGHBORHOOD NORTH OF TAYLOR FARM PARK THAT'S IN THE CITY OF COLUMBUS. BUT IN THE NEW ALBANY PLANE, LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT THEN THERE ARE PORTIONS OF HAMPSTEAD HAMPSTEAD HEATH THAT'S IN THE CITY OF NEW ABNEY. NEW ALBANY PLANE, LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS. THERE YOU KNOW, SO IT'S JUST IT'S THE WAY THE BOUNDARIES ARE DRAWN, AND IT JUST HAPPENS OVER TIME AS DEVELOPMENT OCCURS, UM IT'S VERY COMPLEX, AND YOU JUST KIND OF WE HAVE A COMBINATION OF SITUATIONS. THERE WERE TWO FACTOR AT ALL. UM FAMILIES WHO HAVE SERIOUS DOUBTS PROPERTY BUT [00:45:03] COLLABORATES ACADEMY OR. THE SALES WERE TWO FACTOR. THOSE YEAH. I MEAN, I WAS JUST CURIOUS . YEAH, THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION, BECAUSE I THINK THERE IS A SIZABLE AT LEAST FROM US SCHOOL DISTRICT STANDPOINT OF STUDENTS THAT ATTEND PRIVATE LIVING IN ALBANY ATTEND PRIVATE SCHOOLS. I DON'T KNOW A WAY OF GETTING AT THAT DATA. UM BUT AS THEIR NEW ALBANY RESIDENTS, I THINK FOR THESE PROGRAMS THEY WOULD STILL BE YOU KNOW PART OF WHAT WE WOULD PLAN FOR. SO I AM THINKING MAYBE WE ADJOURN. INTO OUR WORKING GROUP. I KNOW WE HAVE UM , A DISCUSSION ON THE PURPOSE TEAM MEANT FRAMEWORK DISCUSSION . I THINK THAT CONVERSATION KIND OF MEN'S. IT LENDS ITSELF TO JUST KIND OF BEING A LITTLE BIT MORE INFORMAL, SITTING AROUND THE TABLE AND JUST TALKING AND I HAVE THE POWER POINT PULLED UP IN THERE TOO. SO OKAY. UM COOL. WELL UM I MOVED TO ADJOURN INTO WORKING GROUPS AT 7 48 AROUND OFF, SO COME ON. BLOSSOM ONE FOLLOW UP. ALL RIGHT. SO UM, I MOVED TO RECONVENE THE IDEA IMPLEMENTATION PANEL MEETING AT 8 42 DO I HAVE A SECOND? IT'S NOT GOING. THANK YOU. UM IS THERE A ROLE THAT NEEDS TO BE OR NO NEED TO READ THIS? ALL IN FAVOR. ALRIGHT BYE BYE. OKAY IS THERE ANY OTHER BUSINESS TO ADDRESS TONIGHT, EITHER FROM STAFF PANEL MEMBERS OR THE WORKING GROUP? NO. NO. ALRIGHT DO I HAVE ANY PANEL MEMBERS WHO HAVE ANY COMMENTS OR ANYTHING ELSE THEY WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS. ALRIGHT IF NONE I MOVE TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 8 43 PM DO I HAVE A SECOND? SECOND RIGHT IN FAVOR. * This transcript was compiled from uncorrected Closed Captioning.
