UM SO LOOKING AT RECOMMENDATION S TWO FROM THE SUSTAINABILITY CHAPTER, SAYS FOSTER AND ENCOURAGE THE ADOPTION OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES WITHIN THE CITY. SPECIFICALLY PROMOTE THE USE OF SOLAR PANELS. AND GEOTHERMAL SYSTEMS AND ADJUST THE CITY REGULATIONS APPROPRIATELY. WE SAW THE ENACTMENT OF SENATE BILL 61 IN SEPTEMBER. IT WAS SIGNED INTO LAW BY GOVERNOR DEWINE. AND THIS SAYS THAT SOLAR PANELS ARE PERMISSIBLE USE IN PLANNED COMMUNITIES UNLESS EXPRESSLY EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED. BY AN H O A OR COMMUNITY, UM, AUTHORITY SO ASSOCIATIONS WHO DO NOT PROHIBIT SOLAR PANELS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES MAY ONLY PLACE REASONABLE RESTRICTIONS, AND THAT'S THE LANGUAGE THAT THEY USE. UM LIKELY. WHAT WE'LL SEE HAPPEN IS HAVE THAT DEFINITION. BE KIND OF CREATED THROUGH LITIGATION THAT'S NOT REALLY CLEARLY DEFINED. WHAT A REASONABLE RESTRICTION IS. NOW WE'RE SEEING A COUPLE PERMITS EVERY YEAR AND WITH THAT YOU'VE SENT IN BILL SORT OF TAKING POWER AWAY FROM THE H O IS THE CITY CURRENTLY, AS ANA SAID, HAS ZERO REGULATIONS FOR SOLAR PANELS, SO WE HAVE NOTHING FROM AN AESTHETICS OR REGULATORY STANDPOINTS. THE ONLY THING WE ISSUED PERMITS FOR IS REALLY FOR ELECTRICAL HOOKUPS. AND SO THIS IS REALLY KNOWING THAT YOU KNOW, HISTORICALLY H O S HAVE REALLY BEEN ABLE TO REGULATE THOSE FOR WHAT THEY DEEM AS APPROPRIATE FOR THEIR INDIVIDUAL SUBDIVISIONS AND NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITIES, UM, KNOWING THAT THAT COULD BE TAKEN AWAY, AT LEAST ON SOME LEVEL.
