THE NEW ALBANY COMPANY HAS SUBMITTED THE APPLICATION BY REQUEST OF THE CITY AND THE PROPERTY IS LOCATED AT UH, THE EAST SIDE OF MAIN STREET BETWEEN THIRD STREET AND MILLER AVENUE. THE OFFICE BUILDING IS NORTH OF THE NEW ALBANY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, AS HIGHLIGHTED IN RED HERE IN THE CORNER. PER CITY, CODIFIED ONE AND IT'S 1157 08 B 11 OF THE CRITERIA MUST BE MET IN ORDER TO APPROVE THE CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS. THE BUILDING PREVIOUSLY SERVED AS AN OFFICE SPACE FOR BUSINESSES SUCH AS THIS PRESTIGE DRIVING ACADEMY AND SINCE THE OFFICE BUILDING WAS BUILT IN 1977, IT DOES NOT HAVE A HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE TO THE AREA IN WHICH IT IS LOCATED. NOR DOES IT HAVE ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE SINCE THE BUILDING HAS A RANCH STYLE THAT OFFSETS THE APPEARANCE COMPARED TO NEIGHBORING PROPERTIES. ALSO THE OFFICE BUILDING DOES NOT HAVE ANY ARCHITECTURAL DETAILING AND VERY FEW WINDOWS. THEREFORE IT DOES NOT APPEAR THAT THE ANY ARCHITECTURAL OR HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE TO THE AREA WILL BE LOST WITH THE DEMOLITION OF THE OFFICE BUILDING. THE DEMOLITION OF THE BUILDING IS NECESSARY FOR DIRECT SUPPORT OF THE CITY'S PLANNED MARKET STREET EXPANSION PROJECT. THIS MARKET STREET EXTENSION IS ENVISIONED IN THE ENGAGED NEW ALBANY STRATEGIC PLAN. AS A CRITICAL CONNECTION IN THE VILLAGE CENTER. TO FULLY ACCOMMODATE THIS PROJECT. THE OFFICE BUILDING NEEDS TO BE DEMOLISHED TO REPLACE THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCHES, BUT PARKING SPACES BASED ON THESE FACTORS SUBMITTED BY THE APPLICANT, IT APPEARS THE CRITERIA HAS BEEN MET. AND THAT WILL TAKE QUESTIONS AT THIS TIME. UH, CAN YOU HELP ME FOR A SECOND? BECAUSE IT GO GO BACK TO THE OVER THE OVERHEAD THING. YOU COULD. DEMOLITION IS NEEDED AS PART OF A TRI PARTY. UM AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE EYE DOCTOR THAT'S LOCATED HERE SO THEY'LL REMAIN THE METHODIST CHURCH AND THEN THE CITY SO THE CITY'S MARKET STREET EXTENSION WILL COME UP AND IT'S ACTUALLY GOING TO THIS WILL BE THE NEW THROUGH MOTION.

SO THAT WILL THAT NECESSITATES THE REMOVAL OF SOME OF THESE PARKING. I GUESS THAT IS, BUT THEN HOW DOES THAT HELP PARKING AND WITHOUT PEOPLE HAVING TO WALK THE LONG WAY, SO THAT'S SOMETHING ELSE THAT THE CITY WILL BRING BACK TO THE SO, UH, ANY TYPE OF COMMERCIAL PARKING LOT ALTERATIONS OR NEW PARKING HAS TO COME TO THE A RB. WE'RE FINALIZING THOSE PLANS NOW AND I SUSPECT WE'LL BRING THAT TO YOU TO SEE THE FINAL LAYOUTS WITHIN THE NEXT LIKE MONTH OR SO. BUT UH SUFFICE IT TO SAY THAT SOME OF THE PARKING WILL BE RELOCATED FROM THIS CORNER TO WHERE THIS BUILDING IS, AND THAT WILL ALSO ALLOW FOR, UH FEWER CURB CUTS ON US 62 FOR MORE PARKING WITHIN SORT OF THIS WHOLE GENERAL AREA HERE TO OFFSET THE IS GONNA BE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE VARIOUS AREAS THE METHODISTS CAN DRIVE AND THAT THAT'S CORRECT, BUT THAT THAT'S WHAT I WAS TRYING TO GET. BUT I WANNA MAKE SURE THAT WE FOLLOW THE RIGHT PROCEDURE AND HOW WE EVALUATE THE REQUEST? ABSOLUTELY SO OUR CODE SAYS THAT AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IN YOUR STAFF REPORT MUST BE MET TO APPROVE THE DEMOLITION. SO IF YOU FIND THAT ANY ONE OF THOSE IS TRUE, THEN UH, THAT'S WHAT THE BOARD NEEDS PER CODE IN ORDER TO APPROVE IT. AND THOSE ARE NUMBER 12 AND THREE. SO THE FIRST ONE IS THAT A STRUCTURE CONTAINS. UH, NO FEATURES OF ARCHITECTURAL, UH, AND HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE. THE SECOND IS THAT THERE IS NO REASONABLE ECONOMIC USE FOR THE STRUCTURE AND THE THIRD ONE IS THAT DETERIORATION HAS PROGRESSED TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS NOT ECONOMICALLY FEASIBLE TO RESTORE THE STRUCTURE. SO MAKES A WHOLE LOT OF SENSE. WE WERE ASKED TO DO THIS AND WE ARE HAPPY TO THE OPTOMETRIST IS NOT PART OF THIS AND NOT IS NOT EXPECTED TO BE PART OF THIS. THE BUILDING BETWEEN E YEAH.
