ANOTHER RECENT ONE, ANOTHER COLUMBUS AREA COMMUNITY PASSES 90 DAY MORATORIUM ON DATA CENTERS. SO ANYWAY, I GUESS WHAT I'M REALLY HERE FOR IS TO REQUEST THAT THE CITY OF NEW ALBANY PROVIDE A FORMAL REPORT ON. WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE IN THE CITY OF NEW ALBANY. ONE OF THESE REPORTS SAYS THAT SINCE 2017, THE STATE OF OHIO HAS. ANYWAY GRANTED OVER $2.5 BILLION OF TAX INCENTIVES TO THESE COMPANIES. BUT WE KNEW WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT TAX INCENTIVES AND OTHER BENEFITS ARE GIVEN TO THESE COMPANIES. WATER, WATER AND ELECTRICITY BENEFITS ARE GIVEN. WE HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THE WATER SITUATION HERE. FIVE YEARS AGO, WHEN ALBANY STARTED LOOKING FOR WATER, THE NEW COMPANY BOUGHT LAND IN GRANVILLE, WHERE THE CITY OF NEW ALBANY IS DRILLING FOR WATER. NOW, I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT BECAUSE NEW ALBANY COMPANY IS A PRIVATE COMPANY. THE CITY OF ALBANY IS THE PEOPLE OF NEW ALBANY. AND YOU KNOW WHAT'S WHAT'S GOING ON THERE. SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 50 AND 100, I GUESS. I'M GUESSING I DON'T KNOW. WE NEED TO KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THE ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION OF THESE COMPANIES AND HOW THAT'S GOING TO AFFECT THE COMMUNITIES IN TERMS OF COST AND AVAILABILITY OF ELECTRICITY. WE NEED TO KNOW THE LONG TERM EFFECTS OF THE WATER CONSUMPTION THAT'S GOING TO GO ON IN TERMS OF THE. RESERVOIRS, THE AQUIFERS, THE GROUND SUPPLY OF WATER. YOU KNOW, ANOTHER THING IN THE PAPER IS NEW ALBANY COMPANY IS BUYING LAND ON JONESTOWN ROAD, AND THEY WANT THE CITY OF NEW ALBANY TO ANNEX IT. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? I DON'T THINK SO. YOU KNOW. SO. REALLY NEEDS TO BE SOME OPEN DISCLOSURE ABOUT ALL THIS. THE FRANKLIN COUNTY AUDITOR AND THE THE LICKING COUNTY AUDITOR BOTH HAVE TAX INCENTIVE REVIEW COMMISSIONS THAT MEET EVERY YEAR, THAT REVIEW EACH OF THE TAX INCENTIVES THAT WE AGREE TO. IT'S ALL VERY PUBLIC AND TRANSPARENT. SO I WOULD I WOULD WELCOME YOU TO SPEND A LITTLE BIT MORE TIME EDUCATING YOURSELF ABOUT HOW THOSE THINGS WORK. OKAY. THE CITY OF COLUMBUS PROVIDES ALL OF THE WATER RESOURCES THAT WE USE IN NEW ALBANY. YOU PROBABLY PAY A BILL TO THE CITY OF COLUMBUS IF YOU LIVE HERE FOR THAT WATER SERVICE. THE CITY OF COLUMBUS, THE STATE OF OHIO ARE BUILDING A FOURTH WATER PLANT, APPRECIATING THE GROWTH IN THE REGION AND TRYING TO GET AHEAD OF THE WATER NEEDS. CERTAINLY SOMETHING THAT WE PAY ATTENTION TO. EACH ONE OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENTS THAT WE ENTER INTO HAVE AN ACTUAL ALLOCATION FOR WATER USAGE. SO IT'S ALL, AGAIN, VERY PUBLIC AND TRANSPARENT, SOMETHING THAT WE LITERALLY DON'T HAVE A LOT OF CONTROL OVER. IS THE ENERGY PART OF THE CONVERSATION.
