SINCE 2006, THE MONTH OF MAY HAS BEEN PRESIDENTIALLY DECLARED TO BE JEWISH AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH, PURSUANT TO A BIPARTISAN RESOLUTION OF CONGRESS. WHEREAS, EVER SINCE JEWISH IMMIGRANTS ARRIVED IN AMERICAN SHORES IN THE 16TH CENTURY, THE CORE VALUES OF JEWISH FAITH HAVE HELPED DEFINE AMERICA'S CHARACTER AND VALUES, INCLUDING THAT WE CELEBRATE OUR. THAT IS A SIGNIFICANT INTENSIFICATION IN AN ALREADY CONCENTRATED AREA, WHICH WE HEARD ABOUT EARLIER THIS EVENING, AND WE'LL HAVE A REAL IMPACTS ON TRAFFIC FLOW, SAFETY AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR EXISTING RESIDENTS. THAT COMBINATION IS REALLY THE CONCERN HERE. I HAVE LIVED IN THIS AREA FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS AND OVER THE PAST 12 TO 18 MONTHS, TRAFFIC CONDITIONS HAVE FELT LIKE THEY'VE REACHED A TIPPING POINT. THESE CONCERNS ARE NOT SPECULATIVE. WE ALREADY EXPERIENCE CONGESTION, DIFFICULT TURNING MOVEMENTS AND SPEEDS THAT REGULARLY EXCEED THE POSTED LIMIT. LET ME GIVE YOU A REAL EXAMPLE. MY WIFE, LISA, HAS HAD A PERFECT DRIVING RECORD FOR OVER 30 YEARS. HOWEVER, IN JUST THE PAST 18 MONTHS, BETWEEN AUGUST 2024 TO FEBRUARY 2026, SHE WAS INVOLVED IN THREE SEPARATE COLLISIONS ON THIS CORRIDOR THAT SHE WAS NOT AT FAULT AT AND FOR ANY OF THEM.
